Makenzie's New York Swing Debut with
Thistle Dance Company

Makenzie has been offered the opportunity to intern for Thistle Dance Company this Fall, where she made her Off-Broadway swing debut in Thistle's immersive theatre experience: Unbound: Haus of Haunts in collaboration with The New York Public Library. Check out the BroadwayWorld article here!

Makenzie will have the opportunity to  deconstruct storytelling that used to be considered standard, illuminating the realities of many that don’t usually have the privilege to have their story told through choreography, performance, production, creative writing, etc.

Dance is about connection. Dance is about trust. How can we connect and trust one another as individuals and artists if our storytelling doesn’t accurately represent those we are trying to illuminate?
